About Us
We have a proven track record of creative, sustainable, and cost-effective design across a variety of sectors, climates, and cultures. We work in a wholly collaborative manner, often as part of a wider team to deliver added value to our clients and communities. Our commitment to deliver the optimal solution for every scheme has been recognised in numerous project awards.
Practice
Plincke was established in 1988 and became a Limited Company in 1991. The practice is named after the late Richard Plincke, an architect and artist with a lifelong commitment to design excellence and landscape conservation. The company is wholly owned by its lead director, Colin Burden. We are members of the Landscape Institute and Constructionline
accredited. We maintain £10m PI cover and in over 30-years of trading have never had a claim made against us.
Who We Are?
We are a design-led practice with a track record of delivering award winning projects across a variety of sectors. Much of our work is for public sector, institutional, and third-sector clients, including charitable trusts. In addition to our core service in landscape and urban design, we have two specialist landscape teams working within the education sector and the restoration and renewal of historic landscapes, including urban parks.
What We Do?
We operate nationally from 3-studios: Manchester in the north, Rugby in the Midlands, and London in the south. Our expertise also takes us to international destinations where we
have experience of designing within a wide variety of cultures and climates. Our landscape architecture and urban design skills are supported by a framework of consultants in disciplines ranging from arboriculture, ecology, and landscape conservation.
How We Do It?
Our creative approach is balanced with our desire to understand the social, environmental, and economic context that each project is rooted in. This often leads us working closely as part of a wider team, including sustainability advisors and business planners. For over 30-
years we have pioneered a more collaborative way of working that engages with our clients, stakeholders and communities to inform the design process rather than reacting to it.
